Next, it’s time to discover which sites are attracting your target audience. Do a quick Google search for your primary keyword phrase or phrases.
For example, if you input “RV community forum,” you’ll get a good idea of the sites your target audience is frequenting. Make a list of the top five to ten for future reference.
3. Go broader
Use a tool like SEMrush to plug in the top URLs from your list in the previous step and find out which keywords these sites are ranking for. Are they targeting different phrases to your site? Are there any additional sites that pop up that you should be paying attention to?
4. Ask your audience directly
Once you’ve done your research on a technical level, take it out to your audience. Set up a poll asking them which sites they frequent online. For best results, go granular. Ask something like “What are your top five favorite sites for RV lifestyle tips and tricks?” or “What resources help you learn about roadside assistance?”
5. Build your connections with these sites
Now that you know where your target audience hangs out online, it’s time to build your relationship with these top sites. Approaches like guest blogging, advertising, and partnerships will allow you to attract new customers and make new sales, all while networking with relevant and popular sites.
