Everything’s bigger in Texas. The 26 lane Katy Freeway, thunderstorms, pickup trucks, and college football rivalries are all bigger in Texas. For anyone that has visited a beloved Bucees, as soon as you were greeted by the cheerful smile of that adorable beaver you knew then that even our gas stations are bigger in Texas. And, yes, even the RV dealerships are bigger in Texas. Located in the heart of Houston, PPL Motor Homes is the largest RV consignment dealer in the nation and the woman driving their success has a story that’s as big as the Texas sky. Her friends and followers of her blog know her as RV Nanna, but in the industry, she’s more commonly known as Diana LeBlanc.
Believe it or not, RV Nanna first ventured into the RV industry via a simple green-sheet advertisement. Diana was a single mother and all she wanted was a steady and reliable job to support her and her daughter. She had been working 2 jobs with no benefits and quickly jumped at the opportunity to work for PPL. Diana started as a receptionist and over the past 39 years she steadily worked her way up through the company finally landing in the driver’s seat as PPL Motor Home’s President.
Texas is a major market in the RV industry and it has produced many prominent and influential people, with Diana being one of them. She served as the President of the Texas RV Association for two years and continues to serve on the board working tediously every year on their annual convention which raises money to support TRVA’s lobbyist so he can advocate for our industry and our customers. Diana isn’t just interested in the success of her dealership, she’s invested in the success of the industry as a whole. “I want the other dealers who sell new RVs to do well. If they stop selling, then I won’t have anything to sell either. I want everyone to succeed.” And it’s that mindset that earned Diana LeBlanc the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2016. This award honors the most innovative business leaders who have transformed business practices and industries, created jobs, and have had a positive and significant impact on their community.
Diana not only transformed her own life, she has completely transformed PPL. They have grown to 3 locations and sell over 2,500 RVs annually. Diana credits PPL’s success to three key elements: their team, their customers, and their suppliers & vendors. Her third key to success might not seem like an obvious choice to many people, but to PPL it’s common sense. In this industry, we’re largely interdependent upon each other. Dealerships need suppliers and vendors who can provide them with quality products and reliable services. In turn, suppliers and vendors need business savvy dealerships who are committed to their industry partners. That’s why Coach-Net loves being partnered with PPL Motor Homes. We know that they value our services and they trust that we will take care of their customers. Our success is dependent upon dealerships being successful, and many dealerships would say that their continued success is dependent upon their customers being cared for long after they leave the dealership. That means the products the dealers sell need to be of great quality, and when the inevitable happens and something breaks or they simply get a flat tire, PPL knows that our dedicated team will be there 24/7 to care for the customer.
Diana actually knows this firsthand. She’s a Coach-Net member and she’s called us when she found herself stranded on the side of the road. We took care of getting her back on the road so she could continue her journey. Diana has come a long way. Her journey hasn’t been easy, but she’s a testament that with hard work and the right people supporting you, you’re almost guaranteed to come out on top. Thank you, Diana, for choosing Coach-Net to accompany you on your journey to success. Thank you, PPL Motor Homes, for being your customers’ connection to carefree RVing.
