Last month the Texas RV Association held their annual dealer convention in San Antonio, Texas. Dealers, vendors, bankers, and manufacturers from all over Texas met to discuss the latest issues affecting the industry and work together on our common agenda. The weekend was full of fun activities which kicked off with festive outdoor games and networking event. Saturday Texas Legislator Representative John Cryier spoke to everyone during the group luncheon sharing stories about his travels with his family and his experience as Chairman of the House Culture, Recreation, & Tourism Committee.
Saturday night we were honored to hear from Chet Garner, the host of the six-time Emmy Award-winning travel series The Daytripper. For 10 years Chet has been sharing his adventures exploring large and small towns all-across Texas taking in the local history, traditions, culture, and all the fantastic food. The Daytripper is the perfect show for RVers looking to explore the diverse entertainment that Texas has to offer and everyone seemed to love hearing about Chet’s travels.

Sunday morning had a great turnout for all of the seminars with practically everyone showing for the Industry Panel Discussion featuring RVDA Board Chairman Mike Regan of Crestview RV, RVDA President Phil Ingrassia, and RVIA VP Jay Landers. They spoke about the challenges our industry is currently facing and projections for the next few years. Everyone was incredibly excited to see RVDA and RVIA representatives working together side-by-side tackling tough issues and celebrating collective industry successes.
TRVA Panel Discussion
Sunday night the guest speaker during the President’s Dinner was the renowned ABC Political Contributor & Commentator, Matthew Dowd. As a New York Times bestselling author and former chief strategist for George H.W. Bush, he was the perfect person to speak about “Leadership in Times of Change.” The weekend events culminated with the presentation of two esteemed awards. Congratulations to Mike Regan for receiving the prestigious President’s Award and Diana LeBlanc-Link, President of PPL Motor Homes, for being given the remarkable Bill White Award. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the 2019 convention such a huge success. We can’t wait for next year!
